Some strange things are kept in the cellar
Most common people in the town keep odds and ends in their cellars. Some homes have extra furniture, but most do not. One home kept rather odd ends in the cellar. That was the ancestral home of Steven Rupert Tillman, which he had recently inherited from his father. A curious detail is that his father had died towards New Year.
In the year of this case, Steve Tillman sat in his living room and watched new-fallen snow. The fallen snow was nearly knee-deep. Few townspeople ventured outdoors at night. Whoever did soon hurried homewards. It must be said that in many past years, motorists nearly froze in their cars. As we all know, the engine powers both the heater and the air conditioner of the car; so, when the engine dies, the air in the car is frigid.
